The last days there were a lot of rumours spreading around about a merge between SC Germania and A F C Tigers.
After several days of negotiation the result is: everything stays as it is.
What happened?
Tigers were struggling in the past weeks and had severe activity issues. On the peak of the crisis, AFCT Manager Hutcho decided to fold Tigers last weekend. Due to the friendly relationship between SCG and Tigers, negotiations were started immediatly and the SCG Management offered a new home to most of the remaining active core team of Tigers.
While there still were a few discordances, in general the deal was settled at monday night.
Then came tuesday night, the quarter finals between SCG and Tigers in the FSCL Cup. After two exciting matches AFCT won by a nose 6-5, but more importantly they had a very high player attendance this night, which motivated Tigers Managers Hutcho and Smith to call the SCG deal off and try to rebuild the team.
While we of course are sorry that this great opportunity to unify these two top teams is missed, we respect their decision and wish them good luck in building up the team again. Tigers have a long history and we would have missed them as opponents.
Nevertheless the SCG team is preparing for the next season now, and we still are looking for some dedicated defenders and midfielders with tournament experience. If you are over 18, level 50+ and think you got what it takes to wear the green-white kit, contact us in IRC.
